Armenian Catholicos defrocks clergyman in Marneuli 

ArmInfo. The spiritual shepherd of the Marneuli region of the Armenian Diocese of Georgia, Archimandrite Zaven Yazicyan, has been defrocked by the patriarchal decree of the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II.

As reported by the press office of the Mother See of Etchmiadzin, the  basis for the deposed order was the statement of the Primate of the  Armenian Diocese of Georgia, Bishop Kirakos Davtyan, and the  conclusion of the Disciplinary Commission regarding the voluntary  departure of Archpriest Zaven Yazicyan from his place of spiritual  service.

The deposed clergyman will henceforth be listed among the laity under  the name Sargis Yazicyan.
