ArmInfo. Hayk Konjoryan, head of the Civil Contract faction in the National Assembly of Armenia, believes that the initiative of the "We Are on Alert " movement to express no confidence in Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is merely squabbles between opposition parties and a race for the title of the <best oppositionist>. He also rules out the possibility that the ruling faction MPs will join this initiative.
"This agenda is absolutely senseless. Even the head of the Armenia faction stated that there are no valid reasons for impeaching Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. I am inclined to think that a race has started within the opposition, with each side trying to outdo the other and push for certain political processes in order to position themselves as the best opposition party. Let them compete in their race, let's see who comes out on top and who falls behind, "Konjoryan said during a briefing in parliament on May 7.
According to the ruling faction MP, the closer the elections are, the more actively the opposition will fight amongst themselves to determine who is more oppositional. At the same time, Konjoryan considers Nikol Pashinyan a brilliant leader. "I believe and am convinced that in all countries, all rulers, all governments have both successes and difficulties. And we are constantly engaged in self-reflection," he said.
