ArmInfo. The opposition faction With Honor is ready to support the candidacy of the second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan if the "Armenia" bloc nominates him for this post. The head of the faction "I have the honor" Hayk Mamijanyan said this in a conversation with journalists in parliament on May 6.
In this regard, the MP recalled that the process of expressing impeachment against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was not initiated due to the lack of a suitable candidate. However, Mamijanyan assured that there are no preconditions in this matter.
"We are ready to start this process with a real oppositionist, with any candidate. We are open to discussing a candidate with zero ambitions, as has been the case for the past seven years. This is the only reason that currently holds us back from signing and putting the initiative into circulation," the oppositionist assured.
Speaking about the potential effectiveness of this process, the MP emphasized that when it comes to the fight for the Motherland, there is no point in counting on the success of this or that action.
He explained that their strategy is to use all available tools and take actions to the maximum in order to launch the process itself. "Whether it will work or not - we do not make such calculations. But until today there have been no such initiatives," the MP explained, assuring that today every third person in Armenia considers the Armenian Prime Minister a traitor.
Today, in a response to the letter of the civil movement "We are vigilant" by Edgar Ghazaryan and Narek Malyan, the deputies of the opposition faction "I have the honor" of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia expressed their readiness to support the civil initiative to pass a vote of no confidence in the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. At the same time, the response indicates that the faction currently does not have an alternative candidate for the post of Prime Minister. However, a group of opposition parliamentarians is ready to discuss this candidacy without any preconditions and begin the process of passing a vote of no confidence.
