ArmInfo. The announcement of a tender for the feasibility study of the Surmalu metro station construction project has been delayed, since the project will include reconstruction work on the Christopher Bridge. This was reported by Yerevan Mayor's Advisor Anneta Babayan during a working meeting of the City Hall.
She noted that such a decision was made as a result of discussions with representatives of the Metro, which revealed new circumstances related to the technical condition of the Christopher Bridge and its safety. Consequently, the bridge was also included in the technical specifications, given that the territory where the metro station will be built will also affect its operation. Babayan assured that the tender will be announced this week.
At the same time, the Mayor's Advisor reported that the investment program will also be sent to the government for discussion this week. If funding sources are identified, design work will begin.
And by the end of May, as she noted, a tender for the project outline will be announced.
At the moment it is unclear where exactly the Surmalu metro station will be located and how much the project will cost. It is assumed that it will be located between two existing metro stations, Sasuntsi David and Zoravar Andranik, providing access to two shopping centers, Surmalu and Petak. This will help relieve traffic congestion in this area.
