ArmInfo. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has launched an angry tirade against Russia after Azerbaijani MP Azer Badamov was banned from entering the Russian Federation.
As reported by the media, yesterday Badamov, who was heading to Astrakhan as part of the Azerbaijani delegation, was detained at the Moscow airport by Russian border guards. They informed Badamov that he was subject to expulsion from the country, since he was an undesirable person in Russia.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry was outraged that Russia detained Badamov, who was part of the delegation, "without warning or explanation." Baku called Russia's actions "an unfriendly step" and demanded that Russia "clarify this issue."
Badamov had previously distinguished himself by making inappropriate comments about Russian MP Nikolai Valuev.
