ArmInfo. Armenia and China have reached an agreement on cooperation in the field of assistance to people with disabilities.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Social Labor of Armenia, the parties reached such an agreement during the visit of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia Narek Mkrtchyan to the central office for coordinating about 600 independent centers of China created to support people with disabilities in Zhejiang Province.
In this regard, the minister was presented with the key principles of managing the centers, as well as methods for transferring skills to beneficiaries for independent household management and entrepreneurship, as well as the use of assistive devices, retraining programs for guardians, rehabilitation specialists and other specialists.
In addition, at the invitation of the owner of the Yema group of companies, the Chen brothers, Mkrtchyan visited the "Yema Ancient Ecological Park" in Urumqi. As noted by the Ministry of Labor, the park is a significant tourist center of the region, which combines the preservation of environmental values, the popularization of the Akhal-Teke horse culture and the presentation of historical and cultural heritage, emphasizing the importance of the Silk Road.
According to official statistics, in Armenia in 2024 there were 161,459 people with disabilities.
