The Pope's funeral will take place on April 26. The farewell ceremony will begin on April 23 in St. Peter's Basilica. Anyone wishing to bid farewell to the deceased will be able to do so within three days. The Vatican also published the last will of Pope Francis, in which he expressed his wish to be buried in the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore on the Esquiline Hill in Rome.
Pope Francis died on the morning of April 21 at the age of 88. He ascended the throne as head of the Catholic Church in 2013. It should be noted that a number of world leaders, including the leaders of Germany, France, the United States, Brazil and Argentina, have already announced their intention to travel to the Vatican to bid farewell to the Pontiff.
