ArmInfo. The 4th meeting of the Armenian-Tajik intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation was held in Dushanbe.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy, the parties discussed the potential for enhancing cooperation between Armenia and Tajikistan in various economic sectors, including industry, high technology, agriculture, and education. During the meeting, Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan emphasized the shared goal of strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in digital economy, innovation, cybersecurity and high technology. He presented Armenia's economic development policy and the government priorities, which focus on attracting investments, developing a competitive, efficient and technologically advanced industry, improving the business environment, promoting tourism, and increasing the efficiency of agriculture. The Minister also spoke about the government's "Crossroads of Peace " project. At the end of the meeting, the parties signed the relevant protocol.
According to the RA Customs Service, the customs value of exported goods in the first half of 2024 increased by 89%, surpassing $1 million. The customs value of imported goods also saw a significant increase, reaching $246.6 thousand.
