ArmInfo.To learn the best international practices a delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Armen Mkrtchyan was on a working visit to the Republic of Finland.
As ArmInfo was informed by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the visit was organized as part of large-scale reforms carried out in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Within the framework of these reforms it is planned to form a new approach to responding to calls of the citizens in emergency situations, to provide effective services to the public and to establish a unified emergency response and management center with the phone number 112.
During the visit the delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs visited the Emergency Response Center Agency's facility in the city of Kerava, where they studied the Agency's functions, operational principles, the call routing process, operators' standard operational procedures, technical solutions, software systems, the public notification system, the center's organizational and analytical work, the training process for the employees, etc.
The delegation also participated in the annual conference and exhibition organized by the European Emergency Number Association (EENA). During the conference technological and innovative solutions for emergency call handling were discussed, and automated information systems used for emergency response in different countries were studied.
Within the framework of the conference the delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs held meetings with representatives of several specialized organizations, including ESRI, SS8, FREQUENTIS, and Motorola, which work to develop different solutions in the field of emergency response. As a result, several innovative solutions will be implemented in the process of establishing the new unified emergency management center within the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
