ArmInfo. This year, the commemorative events on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide will once again take place in conditions when the existence of the Armenian state is under threat. This is stated in the publication of the member of the Bureau of the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun", co-chairman of the Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations of France (CCAF) Murad Papazian on Facebook.
According to him, a year after Artsakh was completely cleared of its population as a result of a carefully conducted operation of ethnic cleansing, the Azerbaijani dictatorship continues to hang like a sword of Damocles over the existence of the Armenian state. "These actions, planned and implemented jointly with Erdogan's Turkey, are part of the revival of pan-Turkic projects - the same ones that in 1915 made it "necessary" to kill one and a half million Armenian men, women and children.
One hundred and ten years later, the Azerbaijani dictatorship and the Turkish autocracy, far from recognizing and condemning this enduring crime, continue its legacy by encouraging state denial and pursuing a dangerous policy of hostility towards democratic Armenia.
Such a situation, which is more barbaric than civilized, is not only an outrage on the memory of the victims of the genocide, a threat to Armenia's right to exist, but also a challenge to our system of humanistic and democratic values," Papazyan noted. He added that in memory of the victims of the first genocide of the 20th century, in defense of the still threatened rights of the Armenian people, for the right of return of the refugees from Artsakh, for the release of the hostages, for justice and human dignity, CCAF calls on all descendants of the survivors, friends of Armenia and democrats to take part en masse in the national day of remembrance that will take place in France on April 24, 2025
