ArmInfo. Slovenia has supported the final proposal to provide assistance to Armenia through the European Peace Facility as stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of European and Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon, during a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan following their talks in Yerevan.
According to her, Slovenia supported this decision to assist with reforms in the Armenian Armed Forces. "Yes, the approach should be consensual, but, we in Slovenia clearly expressed our position and provided strong support," Fajon said in response to a question from an Armenian journalist about whether the information that Hungary has blocked the initiative to provide Armenia with 10 million euros through the European Peace Facility is true. In turn, Mirzoyan noted that last year's aid program implied 10 million, and this year's amount is significantly larger. He also added that discussions about providing aid to Armenia through the European Peace Facility are ongoing, expressing hope for a positive outcome.
