Catholicos Aram I voices protest over conference at Pontifical  Gregorian University

Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia His Holiness Aram I in his letter to the head of the Department of the Eastern Catholic Churches of the Vatican, Cardinal Claudio Gugerotti expressed deep pain and protest regarding the conference entitled "Christianity in Azerbaijan: History and  Modernity" held at the Pontifical Gregorian University. 

As reported by the press office of the Cilicia House, His Holiness  noted that the one-sided organization of this conference, its topics  and the choice of speakers, especially concerning the Armenian  Apostolic Church, in the complete absence of Armenian  representatives, is a blatant injustice and a violation of historical  truth. Aram I reminded Cardinal Gugerotti that since the first  centuries of Christianity there had been close ties between the  Armenian and Albanian Churches, and that the AAC had been actively  and organizedly represented in Artsakh up to the present day. In the  same letter, the Catholicos also recalled the forced expulsion of the  Armenians of Artsakh by the Azerbaijani authorities as part of their  genocidal policy.
