ArmInfo. On April 11, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Angola Tete Antonio.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that Armenia is interested in developing relations with countries of the African continent and expressed hope that the appointment of Armenia's first Permanent Observer to the African Union would serve as a new impetus in this direction. In the same context, Minister Mirzoyan also stressed the importance of Angola's active role in its Presidency of the African Union.
The interlocutors discussed the prospects for developing bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the importance of activating the interactions between the foreign ministries of Armenia and Angola and holding political consultations to that end.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Tete Antonio exchanged views on the possibilities of cooperation in the fields of high technology, digital economy, education, as well as expanding trade relations.
With his Romanian counterpart Emil Hurezeanu, Mirzoyan touched upon the work to expand cooperation between Armenia and Romania, including the active dynamics of political dialogue and mutual high-level visits.
Mirzoyan and Khurezeanu noted with satisfaction the achievements in deepening the Armenia-EU partnership and exchanged views on the steps and prospects taken to form a new, more ambitious Armenia- EU agenda.
The Armenian Foreign Minister stressed the importance of the inclusiveness of regional programs, as they can contribute not only to economic development in the South Caucasus, but also to the expansion of the region's connectivity and the wider neighborhood, and, consequently, to strengthening stability. In this context, the issues of unblocking regional communications, the Armenian government's "Crossroads of Peace" program, as well as its importance as part of a wider logistics network, were also discussed.
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Romania touched upon cooperation in multilateral formats
