ArmInfo. Moscow is monitoring the situation on the Armenian- Azerbaijani border area, as stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during a weekly briefing on April 9.
"We have also seen the relevant reports in the media. We reiterate our call on Baku and Yerevan to show restraint, take steps to de-escalate tensions, and avoid actions that could worsen the situation. All issues that arise must be resolved peacefully, politically, and diplomatically," Zakharova said. She also announced the willingness of the Russian side to assist Yerevan and Baku in overcoming the remaining contradictions to sign the peace treaty, as well as in unblocking transport and economic communications, delimiting the border and addressing humanitarian issues in line with the trilateral agreements made by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia.
