ArmInfo. The Armenian Foreign Ministry responded to Azerbaijan's demands to provide minefield maps.
Thus, the press secretary of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Ani Badalyan, commenting on Baku's demands to provide minefield maps, recalled that Yerevan, emphasizing the importance of resolving humanitarian issues in 2021, unilaterally provided Azerbaijan with 972 minefield registers without preconditions.
According to her, moreover, remaining committed to the principles of cooperation on humanitarian issues, Armenia compiled new minefield registers based on requests and handed them over to Azerbaijan in early 2024.
"Azerbaijan constantly questions the accuracy of these maps, despite our repeated statements that there are no better or more accurate maps. Armenia, both previously and now, is ready to verify the accuracy of these maps with the involvement of international experts.
We would like to add that the UN International Court has unequivocally rejected the petition for the application of a provisional measure against Armenia, in which Azerbaijan accused Armenia of mine activities," Badalyan emphasized.
The Azerbaijani side periodically demands minefield maps from Armenia. In Yerevan, they say that they have handed over to Baku everything they had.
