ArmInfo. Residents of the village of Proshyan have once again held a protest against the rise in prices for transport services.
Having blocked the Yerevan-Ashtarak highway in the morning of April 8, they once again demanded the return of bus #25, which was serviced by Yerevan Bus CJSC. For using this type of service, local residents paid the same as passengers in Yerevan - initially 100 drams, and now 150 drams.
However, with the transfer of the right to service the route to the Multi Transport company, local residents are now forced to pay 200 drams, which does not suit them at all. They demanded that Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan return bus #25 to the route with the previous fare. The protesters declared their right to free movement and the right to express their protest against the price increase.
Representatives of the special forces ("red berets") and patrol service arrived at the scene of the action. However, at the moment the road remains blocked.
