ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan deliberately sacrificed Artsakh not so much for the sake of achieving peace, but for the sake of creating a basis for changing Armenia's strategic orientation. This was written on his Telegram channel by the chairman of the Democratic Alternative party Suren Surenyants.
Meanwhile, according to Suren Surenyants, this statement by the Foreign Ministry, which is a typical Pashinyan's manner of shifting the blame for the failure of his own policy onto others, is manipulative. "The reality is that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue as a conflict was closed by Nikol Pashinyan on October 6, 2022, when, within the framework of the quadripartite statement in Prague, he recognized Nagorno- Karabakh as part of a united Azerbaijan. It was as a result of this statement that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue was removed from the agenda of the settlement of interstate relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan," the politician emphasized.
According to him, the country's authorities are attempting to place responsibility for the destruction of Artsakh and ignoring the Nagorno-Karabakh issue in the peace agreement on the leadership of Nagorno- Karabakh. As evidence, the politician cited a statement by the RA Foreign Ministry, which stated that "Armenia worked in negotiations with Azerbaijan to ensure the security and rights of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, including the creation of an international mechanism to resolve these issues. The same goal was pursued during the organization of meetings of representatives of Azerbaijan and Nagorno- Karabakh in third countries, which were rejected by Nagorno-Karabakh." "After the publication of the decree on the forced deportation of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh and the liquidation of Nagorno- Karabakh, this issue was removed from the agenda of the settlement of interstate relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan," the Armenian Foreign Ministry noted.
