ArmInfo. The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Russia, Ararat Mirzoyan and Sergey Lavrov, exchanged messages on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
As reported by the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Mirzoyan's message states as follows: "I sincerely congratulate you on the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation.During this relatively short historical period, thanks to joint constructive and fruitful work, interstate relations between Armenia and Russia have strengthened and expanded, based on the centuries-old friendship of our peoples. In the modern conditions of the changing architecture of international relations, it is important to continue our partnership based on the interests of our states and for the benefit of our countries and peoples. We focus on long-term mutually beneficial cooperation in the political, socio-economic, humanitarian and other spheres and aim to continue and expand a meaningful dialogue that fully meets the interests of our countries. I wish the fraternal people of Russia peace and prosperity."
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Lavrov's message notes that the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia has marked the beginning of a modern stage of bilateral relations between Moscow and Yerevan. "Based on the shared spiritual and moral values, the strong traditional intersectoral and humanitarian contacts, Russia and Armenia have developed a solid contractual and legal framework and have built multifaceted, equal, and mutually beneficial relations. Despite external attempts to undermine the Russian- Armenian alliance, we have succeeded in maintaining a high level of political dialogue and foreign policy coordination, and have increased trade and economic cooperation both bilaterally and within a common integration space. We are willing to continue working together to further deepen and enhance the effectiveness of the partnership for the benefit of the citizens of our countries and for promotion of peace and security in the South Caucasus. I wish the fraternal Armenian people prosperity," Lavrov's message says.
