ArmInfo. The Wings program, aimed providing comprehensive rehabilitation for families forcibly displaced from Artsakh, is now available in Yerevan. The project is being implemented by the "We Are Our Mountains" Development Agency with the support of the French association Soutien a l'Artsakh. It is reported that 69 children and 44 parents are participating in this stage.
The program includes psychological, intellectual and physical rehabilitation components to help children and their families cope with adaptation difficulties. The program was initially launched in 2023 in Dilijan and has since expanded to Gyumri.
"Almost all of the internally displaced children from Artsakh participated in the Wings program in Dilijan, and the results showed significant progress in their emotional stability and development of new skills," said Sona Hovhannisyan, the head of the program. In Yerevan, the project is being implemented in cooperation with the Intra Mental Health Center. Initial assessments showed a high level of anxiety among the participants, so special therapeutic approaches were developed for them.
Physical rehabilitation is being carried out in collaboration with the Football Academy of the Football Federation of Armenia. Among the sports offered, Artsakh children have chosen swimming. The educational component of the program, aimed at developing the personal and intellectual abilities of children aged 12-18, will also begin soon.
To date, 387 children and 228 parents have participated in the Wings program. In Dilijan, local families have also joined the program, promoting mutual integration. The "We Are Our Mountains" Development Agency was founded in 2020 by Ruben Vardanyan to implement development programs in Artsakh and Syunik. Since 2023, the organization's activities have been focused on supporting internally displaced people from Artsakh and developing the regions of Syunik.
