ArmInfo. No matter how hard various officials try to indirectly convince the Armenian society that some work is being done to find missing compatriots or clarify their fates, the current realities, questions and answers indicate the exact opposite. This is how Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the Armenian parliament from the opposition faction "I have the honor", commented on yesterday's meeting in the country's legislative body with the relatives of missing persons.
The deputy drew attention to the fact that the closed hearing in the Armenian parliament with the relatives of missing compatriots lasted five and a half hours. He added that the meeting was attended by heads of law enforcement agencies, ministers and other high-ranking officials. "No matter how hard various officials try to indirectly convince us that some work is being done to search for our missing compatriots or to clarify their fates, the current reality, questions and answers indicate the exact opposite.
Although the relatives of our missing citizens had many opportunities to ask questions and express their comments, in my opinion, the competent officials were more inclined to imitate the case than to satisfy the objective demands addressed to them," Abrahamyan wrote on his Facebook page.
At the same time, he added that the general atmosphere at the meeting was understandably emotional, since it is impossible to calmly react to the uncertainty surrounding those who left to defend the country and did not return to their homes, and to the difficult experiences of their relatives.
Yesterday, video footage of a scuffle between the parent of the missing persons and MP Gegamon Nazaryan was distributed in the Armenian segment of social media. Moreover, the media writes that the parents demanded that the former Minister of Health, now MP Arsen Torosyan, be invited to the meeting, who, in their opinion, did not properly fulfill the functions assigned to him. It is noted that the participants of the meeting were dissatisfied with its results.
