Kazakhstan welcomes the completion of negotiations on the text of the draft Agreement on Peace and Establishment of Interstate Relations between Yerevan and Baku, as stated by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan. As reported by the press service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Tokayev noted that the mutual visits of the presidents that took place last year significantly boosted the comprehensive development of Kazakh-Armenian relations. "Your first official visit to Astana is of great importance in terms of promoting our partnership. We hold a deep regard for the Armenian people and your country," the President of Kazakhstan emphasized.
Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan welcomes the completion of negotiations on the text of the draft Agreement on Peace and Establishment of Interstate Relations between Yerevan and Baku. In his opinion, this significant event will be a harbinger of the establishment of lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and will contribute to strengthening security and promoting active cooperation in the region, both with Kazakhstan and with all Central Asian countries.
In turn, the Armenian diplomat expressed gratitude for the warm welcome. "We largely share your vision of the strategic partnership between our countries," Mirzoyan noted. He said that the ministries of foreign affairs and other departments of Armenia and Kazakhstan are collaborating to carry out the agreements made during the official visit of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Yerevan last year. The meeting also discussed the potential for enhancing bilateral relations in trade, economic, investment, transportation, logistics, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres. The President of Kazakhstan declared that local businesses are willing to increase their exports to Armenia by $350 million.
