ArmInfo. Azerbaijani Defense Ministry's statements regarding alleged violations of the ceasefire by Armenia are not helping to improve the process of settling bilateral relations, as stated by Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan at a briefing on March 27.
According to him, official Yerevan has already made a statement about its readiness for talks with Baku on the place and timing of signing the peace treaty. The Armenian side, given the current situation, is awaiting a response from Azerbaijan. Armenia emphasizes the significance of signing the document and does not see any obstacles in resolving this issue. "The solution to this problem is extremely important, especially in light of the appeals from international structures and various countries around the world regarding the signing of the document," Kostanyan said. He added that it is challenging to consider the trials of Armenian prisoners of war and other detainees taking place in Baku as legal processes. "Armenia and the international community are urging Azerbaijan to halt these proceedings and release them. In contrast, Azerbaijan is making statements that have no relation to the peace process," Kostanyan emphasized.
