ArmInfo. Four grandmasters from Armenia have won tickets to the World Chess Cup. This was reported by the Chess Federation of Armenia.
As noted in the report, this right was won by Gabriel Sargsyan, Robert Hovhannisyan, Shant Sargsyan and Hayk Martirosyan based on the results of the European Individual Championship. Gabriel scored 8 points out of 11 possible and took 7th place. Robert, Shant and Hayk took 17th, 18th and 21st places respectively, scoring 7.5 points each.
The champion was German grandmaster Matthias Bloebaum, who scored 8.5 points. Matthias became the first chess player in history to be recognized as the European champion among men for the second time.
