ArmInfo. During the government hour in parliament on March 26, opposition MP Lilit Galstyan asked Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan if the Armenian government has a developed action plan for the return of Armenian prisoners from Baku. She also expressed concerns how the interests of the people of Artsakh, as well as their right to return, will be protected if Yerevan is willing to weaken its position, give in and abandon claims in international courts within the framework of the peace agreement.
According to Pashinyan, the authorities are using the same tools as before to secure the return of prisoners. There is nothing new in their approach. The issue is on the agenda of the authorities, both from a humanitarian and political standpoint, in order to establish peace and stability in the region, he pointed out. Regarding for the word "concede", the Prime Minister reiterated that there are no unilateral obligations in the agreement. He pointed out that this provision will only take effect after the agreement is signed and ratified, and it will be implemented on a reciprocal basis, that is, it will equally "weaken" Azerbaijan. "The fundamental question is this: do the people of the Republic of Armenia want to continue the Karabakh movement or not?", he said, stating the role of the movement in "not establishing the statehood of Armenia".
"I believe that we should not continue the Karabakh movement. I also think that the path we are taking to achieve peace is the most effective way to return the Armenian captives. There is simply no more effective path," he concluded.
