ArmInfo. A tragic incident involving Russian border guards occurred on March 25 in the Syunik region of Armenia.
As reported by the crime chronicle website shamshyan.com, at about 10:00 the Patrol Service battalion of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia received information that a UAZ car drove off the roadway at the 27th kilometer of the Meghri-Nrnadzor highway and, after driving about 40 meters, rolled into a gorge. A similar signal was received by the National Crisis Management Center 9-11 Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. Two combat crews of the fire and rescue squad and investigators arrived at the scene. It also became known that the Meghri ambulance team on duty delivered 22-year-old Russian citizen Igor Kotov to the hospital in serious condition, and 30-year- old Russian citizen Roman Alshikhin died on the spot. It is possible that their Russian colleagues will also join the Armenian investigators. According to the website, the deceased and the injured served in the RF border troops in the Republic of Armenia.
