Armenian Ambassador visits UNIFIL headquarters on Lebanese-Israeli  border to meet Armenian peacekeepers

ArmInfo. Armenian Ambassador to Lebanon Vahagn Atabekyan, along with military attache Colonel Artur Dalibatyan and Embassy counselor Stepan Gevorgyan, visited the  UNIFIL headquarters on the Lebanese-Israeli border on March 22 for  the Armenian contingent's  change of guard duty ceremony. 

As reported by the press service of the Armenian Embassy in Lebanon,  the Ambassador met with Brigadier General Nicola Mandolesi, the  Commander of the UNIFIL Western Sector. Mandolesi commended the  service of the Armenian contingent during the intense period of the  Lebanese-Israeli conflict. He noted that the Armenian peacekeepers  remained on guard duty even when most of the peacekeepers sought  shelters in bunkers. Atabekyan welcomed the Armenian peacekeepers and  expressed gratitude for their impeccable service and active  participation in establishing stability and peace in Lebanon.
