Moscow concerned about reports of increased tension on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan

ArmInfo. On March 20, during a  weekly briefing, the official representative of the Russian Foreign  Ministry, Maria Zakharova, touched upon the misinformation spread by  the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry in recent days. 

"Well, of course, we cannot  but be concerned that against the  background of progress, of news about the completion of the draft  peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, unfortunately,  reports of increased tension on the border of the two countries have  recently become more frequent.  Of course, we urge our partners to  exercise restraint and avoid any actions fraught with escalation of  the situation. All emerging issues must be resolved exclusively  through peaceful, political and diplomatic methods. And, of course,  we are in favor of Baku and Yerevan  returning  as soon as possible   to the implementation of the set of trilateral agreements at the  highest level from 2020, 2022," she said.
