ArmInfo. German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Budenbender will visit Armenia and Azerbaijan from March 30 to April 2. According to the press service of the German President, this will be Steinmeier's first visit to these countries since taking office.
"In Armenia, the President will meet with President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. He will also visit the TUMO technology education center and take part in a cultural reception," the statement said. On the second day of his visit to Armenia, the federal president will travel to Dilijan, where he will meet with Armenian female entrepreneurs and learn about the urban development program. "The German President will visit the Sevanavank Monastery at shore of lake Sevan and the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center, which operates in partnership with the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research," the announcement of the visit says.
It is also noted that during the visit to Azerbaijan, the Federal President will meet with President Ilham Aliyev, visit the historical center of Baku, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and talk with Christian, Muslim, and Jewish clergy about tolerance and understanding between religions. "He will also take part in a round table dedicated to the situation of women in Azerbaijan," the press service of the German President reported.
