ArmInfo. If the current leader of Armenia is allowed to continue his previous course, he will become like Chamberlain, who looked into Hitler's eyes and saw "peace". The first Minister of Foreign Affairs of post-Soviet Armenia Raffi Hovhannisyan wrote about this on his Facebook account.
He called not to be deceived by the encouraging statements of foreign countries regarding the "peace" treaty, since the text of the agreed document itself has nothing to do with a dignified, lasting and genuine peace. "Any condition justifying injustice and lawlessness will lead to the complete destruction of the surrendering side and/or to a new war and, ultimately, to various new losses. The one who, without the appropriate authority, appropriated and discredited the idea of "New Armenia", which belonged to another, is now desecrating the very meaning and mission of "Real Armenia".
Real Armenia, even in the most difficult circumstances, seeks and defends its national, state and civil rights, and does not concede, sell or give them away unilaterally. A clear example of this is the guaranteed right to self-determination and the return of the people to occupied Artsakh, the right to the immediate release of all prisoners of war, the right to uphold its own Constitution and, therefore, to ensure its sovereignty and integrity by all means, the right to individual and collective compensation for damages, including by filing lawsuits for the lives of killed, tortured, beheaded and raped citizens and for the destroyed cultural heritage, as well as to bring foreign war criminals and domestic traitors to justice," the former minister wrote.
He also pointed to the sovereign right to fully implement its own defense and security, as well as the right to remain an international diplomatic entity through the OSCE Minsk Group and other bodies.
"The comprehensive implementation of these and other rights is the constitutional duty and obligation of Real Armenia. And this is only the beginning. If we allow the current course to continue, we will most likely witness the emergence of a new Munich Chamberlain, who looked Hitler in the eye and saw "peace". Let other countries solve the problem of their dictators themselves, and our "little one" has long since expired. Of course, he will continue his hostile campaigns. But do not despair, they will end, they will go away as they came," wrote Raffi Hovhannisyan.
On March 13, official Yerevan confirmed the completion of negotiations with Baku on the draft peace treaty. Thus, in a statement by the Armenian Foreign Ministry, it was said that the Armenian Foreign Ministry, through diplomatic channels, informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan that the Republic of Armenia accepts Azerbaijan's proposals on two uncoordinated articles of the draft "Treaty on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan."
Earlier, the head of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stated that the Armenian side accepted all of Baku's proposals, including those regarding the abolition of the OSCE Minsk Group and changes to the country's Constitution.
