ArmInfo. Mutual obligations between Yerevan and Baku cannot be established in conditions of zero trust, especially since there are no mediators and visible guarantees of their proper implementation. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the Armenian parliament from the opposition faction With Honor, commenting on yesterday's statements by the President of Azerbaijan.
"Against the backdrop of statements by Yerevan and Baku about the completion of "peace" negotiations, the President of Azerbaijan stated that trust in Armenia is close to zero. Recalling Pashinyan's statement on Renaissance Square in Stepanakert: "Artsakh is Armenia and that's it", Aliyev noted that there are no people in the current government of Armenia who can be trusted," the Armenian MP stated.
In this vein, he noted that everyone knows that Azerbaijan has often made disrespectful and contemptuous statements about the current government, but when this is said in the context of a discussed and agreed upon document, it shows that the parties are still far from peace.
"Mutual obligations cannot be established between the parties in conditions of zero trust, especially since there are no intermediaries and visible guarantees of their proper implementation," Abrahamyan concluded.
Earlier, Azerbaijani media reported that Ilham Aliyev said at the "Global Baku Forum" that "The level of trust in Armenia is close to zero, and Baku does not trust a single word they say."
"Whatever they say has no meaning for us. We need documents, we need papers. We need their constitution to remove any territorial claims against Azerbaijan. They are still there. We need the OSCE Minsk Group to be dissolved. This is our message to Armenia, and we declare that there is no logic in preserving the Minsk Group. It was created to resolve the Karabakh issue. Today, this issue has been resolved. Armenia recognizes Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan. Why don't you join us and submit a joint statement to the OSCE to dissolve the organization? They don't want to," Aliyev said.
