ArmInfo. The ideology of the "real Armenia" proposed by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan implies encirclement of the country by Turkey and Azerbaijan, as well as fulfillment of all their demands. Armenian expert and political scientist Stepan Danielyan wrote about this on his Facebook page, presenting several key points characterizing this ideology.
Thus, according to Danielyan, the basis of this ideology is that Armenia finds itself surrounded by Turkey and Azerbaijan, and it is impossible to change this reality. In addition, according to him, "it implies that our ancestors, who rejected life under the protectorate of Turkey and Azerbaijan, were punished for rebelling against them."
The expert added that the ideology of the "real Armenia" also claims that "the hostility of Armenians towards the Turks was initiated by foreign powers pursuing their imperialistic goals."
"Considering all of the above, the ideology assumes that we must recognize this reality and fulfill all the demands coming from Baku and Ankara. At the same time, it is necessary to forget about the Armenian Genocide, for which, according to the project of ideology, we ourselves are to blame because of our desire for independence," the political scientist noted.
Danielyan further explained that following this ideology includes the rejection of Artsakh, which has already been effectively implemented by the current government of Armenia, which is building the concept of "real Armenia." The political scientist noted that in addition to this, the Armenian side will have to change the culture, revise history textbooks and destroy literature saturated with nationalist and anti- government sentiments, give up Syunik, which is an obstacle to the Turkic world, and perhaps even part of Sevan.
"After all this, the Turks will feel sorry for us, they will have no compelling reasons for enmity, and we will get a "real Armenia" from some part of today's Armenia and will be able to preserve our existence," Danielyan emphasized, noting that the ideologist of the voiced theses is the spiritual father of the ruling Civil Contract party, adviser to former Armenian President Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Zhirayr Liparityan.
On March 12, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that the first discussion of the draft ideology of the "real Armenia" took place in Armenia. According to him, it was extremely productive and meaningful.
Pashinyan first promoted the idea of a confrontation between "real" and "historical" Armenia on April 10, 2024 in the country's parliament, stating that "historical" and "real" Armenia are antagonists and pose serious threats to each other.
