ArmInfo. The resolution of the European Parliament, which will be discussed at the plenary session today, is actually a response to a message of the former State Minister of Artsakh and philanthropist Ruben Vardanyan. Mane Tandilyan, Co-chair of the "Country to Live" party, posted this on her Facebook page.
Expressing gratitude to the authors of the document, the politician noted that the resolution addresses the inhuman and degrading treatment of Armenian prisoners of war, the psychological pressure exerted on them and the lack of independent legal presence. "Among other demands of the document is the immediate release of Armenian prisoners. There are also demands for sanctions against Azerbaijani officials. The resolution calls for the EU Special Representative for Human Rights to meet with the detainees and urges EU ambassadors in Baku to attend and observe the staged trial," Tandilyan noted. She added that in relation to this important resolution, letters have been sent to all members of the European Parliament, urging them to vote in favor of adopting the document.
