Spanish FM thanks Armenia for saving hikers on Mount Aragats

ArmInfo. Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albarez thanked the Armenian side for rescuing Spanish climbers from an avalanche on Mount Aragats.

"I am closely following the rescue of a group of Spanish climbers  caught in an avalanche in Armenia. I would like to thank the Armenian  authorities, Ararat Mirzoyan, for their cooperation. The consular  department for emergency situations of the Ministry of Foreign  Affairs has been mobilized to provide comprehensive support to our  citizens," the minister wrote on his Twitter microblog (X).

On March 11, 9 Spanish tourists were caught in an avalanche while  climbing Mount Aragats. 8 climbers managed to get out from under the  snowdrifts, another one is missing. More than 50 rescuers and two  helicopters are involved in the search for the missing climber.
