No trials in Azerbaijan free or fair, least of all for Armenians -  Swedish MP

ArmInfo. Swedish MP Erik Hellsborn posted the following message on his X account: 

"Today I received an email from the "Working Group on  Azerbaijan-Sweden Inter-parliamentary Relations", signed by seven  members of the Azerbaijani parliament. It was a response to the  statement from the Swedish-Armenian Friendship Group of the Riksdag  regarding Armenian prisoners of war and the sham trials that the  regime in Baku will conduct against them, which I and 5 other members  of parliament signed.  The email is available to read online for  those who are curious, I will not republish it here. Just share  a  single line that says everything that needs to be said about the  substance of their criticism against us:

"The Azerbaijani judicial system operates in full compliance with  international standards, and any claim to the contrary is nothing  more than slander."

"In the Freedom House Freedom Index, countries are given a score of  0-100 based on how free they are. 16 of these points are based on how  fair and reliable the legal system is, 4 subcategories with a maximum  of 4 points in each. Azerbaijan gets 0 points. In all 4 categories. 0  points out of 16 possible. To say that it does not meet international  standards is putting it mildly. There is no rule of law whatsoever in  Azerbaijan, no trials in the country are free or fair. Least of all  for Armenians who the regime has already labeled as terrorists."

The current and former military-political leadership of Artsakh was  taken hostage after the Azerbaijani aggression against the NKR on  September 19-20, 2023. For the second year in a row, in the context  of the inaction of the international community, dozens of Armenian  citizens are illegally detained in Azerbaijan, subjected to cruel and  degrading treatment, torture.
