ArmInfo. Global changes accompanied by wars, the absence of international law and effective deterrence mechanisms pose challenges to the security of the existence of the Armenian statehood and the viability of Armenian communities. This is stated in the statement of the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun", adopted following the results of the 35th general congress of the party. The text of the statement was presented on March 10 at a press conference in Yerevan by member of the ARF Bureau Lilit Galstyan.
According to her, the 35th Congress of the ARF was convened at a time of serious geopolitical and internal challenges for the Republic of Armenia and all Armenians, the occupation of the Republic of Artsakh, the genocide in Artsakh and existential threats to the Armenian statehood. The disturbed military-political balance in the region after the 44-day war, the continuing militant ambitions of Azerbaijan and the false peace agenda adopted by the Armenian authorities create new threats to the security of the Armenian state. "For both the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem and the current Armenian authorities, the main target for attack is the values of national identity and the forces that carry national ideology. The security and governance crisis in Armenia, the government's actions to incite internal hostility and split the diaspora are exacerbating public despair," the statement said.
Having considered the situation, the 35th Congress of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun declared its strategic goal at the decisive stage of the struggle for the construction of a competitive, qualitatively new national state and the preservation of the Armenian identity.
Accordingly, the strategic priorities of the party are established, including strengthening the independent statehood of Armenia, restoring territorial integrity and sovereignty, building a democratic, legal, social state in accordance with the letter and spirit of the Declaration of Independence. The task of the ARF will also include national unification around the agenda of the liberation of Artsakh, the implementation of international legal and political guarantees for the collective return of the Armenians of Artsakh and the implementation of other fundamental rights of the Artsakh people, strengthening the Armenian army, defense and security systems,
"Pursuing the right to international recognition and compensation for the Armenian Genocide, the party advocates the adoption of a foreign policy based on national and state interests and overcoming security threats, organizational strengthening of the Diaspora, national and political consolidation around pan- Armenian agendas," Lilit Galstyan noted. At the same time, the ARF Dashnaktsutyun congress believes that a change of power is a necessary condition for ending the anti-national and anti-state course of the Armenian authorities, ensuring the security of the Motherland, creating a viable Armenian state, establishing social justice, overcoming the comprehensive internal crisis and implementing the strategic goals of the ARF. "The party is determined and ready to create national unity around the agenda of preserving and developing statehood and national identity," the statement emphasizes.
On March 6, the 35th General Congress of the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun" concluded its work in Tsaghkadzor, following the results of the meeting, a new composition of the ARF Bureau was elected.
