ArmInfo. In the context of the Baku trial, we have information that prohibited methods are being used against prisoners, physical and psychological pressure is being exerted, and torture is committed. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this during the government hour, responding to questions from parliamentarians about what Armenian diplomacy is doing to halt the shameful trial of Armenian prisoners in Baku. "This is unacceptable for us," the Prime Minister stated.
Recalling that the Foreign Ministry has provided a clear assessment of the situation in Baku, he said that efforts to resolve this problem would be long-term. "In such a situation, when it involves prisoners, hostages and other detained persons, our diplomacy is doing everything possible, guided primarily by the principle of "do no harm," the Prime Minister said. He also mentioned December 2023, when 32 Armenian prisoners returned home from Baku. In this vein, he pointed out that the Armenian side had refrained from disclosing any details until the last moment, as it believed that any action could nullify previous efforts and reduce their effectiveness.
