ArmInfo. Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan regrets that Armenian-Turkish relations have been "held hostage" by Azerbaijan.
"And this is very bad. I think that the relevant Turkish officials also realize this," he said in a conversation with journalists on March 4.
According to him, Baku is trying in every possible way to influence the process of normalizing relations between Yerevan and Ankara. However, Armenia will continue to work with Turkey for normalization.
In this context, he believes that it is positive that President Erdogan said the day before that Turkey is waiting for a peace agreement between Yerevan and Baku to be signed as the process of normalizing relations with Armenia progresses.
At the same time, the Armenian speaker assured that no country at this stage plays the role of a moderator in the peace process between Yerevan and Baku. The countries communicate mainly through direct negotiations.
