ArmInfo.Yerevan City Hall plans to begin construction of the Tennis Academy as early as 2025. This was announced by Yerevan Vice Mayor Armen Pambukhchyan.
Without providing any details regarding the investments in this project, he noted that the latter will be implemented in cooperation with the private sector on the territory adjacent to Victory Park (Kanaker- Zeytun administrative district).
Plans to build a Tennis Academy in the Armenian capital were announced back in November last year at a working meeting of the City Hall. In particular, Arsen Makvetsyan, Head of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department of the City Hall, said that it is planned to build 6 open and 4 closed tennis courts on the territory of the Academy. The territory of the Academy and the number of spectator seats, as he noted then, will allow holding international tournaments in Yerevan.
Speaking about plans for 2025, Armen Pambukhchyan also said that the city hall will allocate 5.2 billion drams for courtyard improvement programs. In particular, work will be carried out in 115 courtyards, 30 of which will have football fields. "We hope that this will have an impact on the development of football in Armenia in the future," the vice-mayor said. In addition, he said that in 2025, work will continue on the improvement of parks and the return of public areas to city residents.
