ArmInfo. Four representatives of the Armenian men's chess team are among the top 100 chess players in the world. This is evidenced by the updated rating of the International Chess Federation (FIDE), published on March 1.
According to the rating, Shant Sargsyan is in 56th place, Hayk Martirosyan is in 76th place, Grant Melkumyan is in 96th place, and Aram Hakobyan is in 99th place.
The rating is still headed by Norwegian Magnus Carlsen, followed by American Hikaru Nakamura and Indian Gukesh Domaradju. Levon Aronian, representing the USA, is in 13th place.
The women's rating includes two chess players from Armenia. In particular, Elina Danielyan is in 82nd place, and Anna Sargsyan is in 73rd place.
The ranking is still headed by Chinese Hu Yifan.
