Ambassador of France to Armenia: French consular office in Syunik  will be opening soon

ArmInfo. The office of the Honorary Consul of France in Syunik will be opening soon, as stated by the Ambassador of France to Armenia Olivier Decottignies in an  interview with the Public Radio of Armenia.

In particular, he said that the office will be located in Goris.  "Goris can be considered a crossroads of Syunik, and also has a  special connection to the French language," the Ambassador explained,  noting that Goris is the most French-speaking city in Armenia.   Decottignies did not provide a specific date, but mentioned that the  opening ceremony will be quite solemn and will occur soon.

Let us recall that the intention to open a French consulate in Syunik  was first announced by French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna in  September 2023.
