ArmInfo. Lieutenant General Tiran Khachatryan, the former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces and National Hero of the country, will be released from custody on bail of 10 million drams. This decision was made by Judge Artur Voskanyan during a court hearing in Goris on February 18.
During the hearing, the defense emphasized that there were no grounds to extend Khachatryan's detention. Lawyer Armen Andrikyan drew attention to the fact that a preventive measure was being discussed for a general who was already in custody. In this regard, he explained that stricter measures could only be applied if there were relevant circumstances or violations of the conditions. The judge granted the defense's request to change the preventive measure, replacing the arrest with a written undertaking not to leave the area and release on bail of 10 million drams.
