Catholicos Aram I congratulates President of Syria for the  transitional period

ArmInfo. Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I congratulated the President of Syria for the transitional period Ahmed al-Sharaa on his assumption of  office.

As reported by the press service of the House of Cilicia, Aram I  wished that under his wise leadership a new and brilliant page would  open in the history of Syria.

"The Catholicos noted that the people of Syria have experienced  countless difficulties and severe suffering, but have endured, armed  with patience. In this vein, he expressed hope that the rights of all  Syrian citizens will be respected without any discrimination," the  statement of the Great House of Cilicia says.

Ahmed Hussein al-Sharaa is a Syrian Islamist, a figure in the  jihadist movement in Syria, one of the leaders of the Syrian  opposition offensive of 2024, which ended with the overthrow of  President Bashar al-Assad.  He was appointed as the de facto leader  of Syria for the transitional period from January 29 of this year.
