ArmInfo. The UN Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC) is concerned about the decline in school enrollment and attendance rates of Artsakh children, especially in higher secondary education, as well as the decrease in their learning outcomes, as stated in the UNICEF 2024 report on the humanitarian situation in Armenia.
The report notes that as of December 2024, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MESCS) reported the enrollment of 16,232 forcibly displaced children in schools and 1,617 children in vocational education institutions. Additionally, it is mentioned that 42% of families of forcibly displaced Artsakh residents participating in the program of population needs assessments (MSNAs) have preschool- age children, half of whom do not attend kindergartens.
According to MSNAS, 26% of surveyed households have at least one family member experiencing emotional instability. At the same time, it is noted that those seeking help do so due to a lack of information, financial difficulties, mobility issues and a lack of necessary services.
