ArmInfo. Azerbaijan has proven itself well in the South Caucasus and Caspian region. This was  stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in an interview with the  Chinese television channel CGTN.

"We have initiated large-scale projects that have provided  opportunities for creating communications in the region. We have  proven ourselves well in the South Caucasus and Caspian region, to  which we belong," he noted.

Further, the Azerbaijani leader noted that Azerbaijan firmly defends  its national interests, its way of life, its independent policy and  has achieved considerable success. Aliyev is confident that  Azerbaijan is an example of a country that has appeared on the  international map relatively recently, but "defends its national  interests and establishes good contacts around the world, shows that  it is possible to protect one's own interests if there is stability  and unity in society."
