ArmInfo. A situational partner will not become a strategic ally. This is how political scientist Sergey Melkonyan, an employee of the Institute of Oriental  Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, commented on the closure  of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Azerbaijan.

He noted with irony that in three years, love had turned to hate.  "Rossotrudnichestvo is suspending its activities in Azerbaijan today.  At the same time, "exposures of the fifth column" that worked for  Russia began in Baku, including the former head of the Presidential  Administration, the former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs  and several other high-ranking officials," the expert noted.

The political scientist pointed out the increasing anti-Russian  hysteria in the Azerbaijani media: "Moscow helped Artsakh, sent  Vardanyan there, sent weapons to Yerevan." "It will be a good lesson  for those who fell for the Azerbaijani lobby and decided that "it is  better to replace Armenia with Azerbaijan as a friend." The 2022  Declaration of Allied Cooperation was a strategic move by Baku to  lull Moscow's vigilance until it achieved its goal.
