ArmInfo.Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan called Yerevan's relations with the Eurasian Economic Union normal. "We remain a member of the EAEU. The Union is functioning, and we work within its framework," he said at the Atlantic Council in Washington.
"On the other hand, we suspended our participation in the CSTO, which was our main partner in the security sphere. The reason for this decision was the situation when the CSTO did not fulfill its obligations to ensure the security of the Republic of Armenia," he added, the press service of the head of the Armenian Cabinet reported.
In general, according to Pashinyan, Armenia is currently in the process of diversifying its foreign relations in all areas: from the economy to security.
"We are deepening our relations with the European Union, and last year something very important happened in our relations with the European Union. Since 2022, a civilian observer mission has been operating on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and this is the first time that the European Union has been involved in the security agenda of the Republic of Armenia in any way. We have recently started a dialogue on visa liberalization and hope to complete it as soon as possible," he said.
In addition, he pointed out, the European Union has made another very important decision by including Armenia in the European Peace Fund, which is also a very important political decision. Yerevan recently signed the Charter on Strategic Cooperation with the United States, .
