ArmInfo. A parliamentary friendship group between Armenia and Saudi Arabia will be created in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. The corresponding initiative was put forward by the Chairman of the NA Committee on Foreign Relations Sarkis Khandanyan.
At the regular meeting of the committee on February 3, Khandanyan emphasized that diplomatic relations were established between the two countries on November 25 last year. Last year, the two countries appointed non-resident ambassadors on a reciprocal basis, and most recently, a friendship group between Saudi Arabia and Armenia was formed in the parliament of Saudi Arabia, which, according to Khandanyan, is welcomed by the Armenian side. In response, a decision was made to form a similar group in the NA of Armenia.
All its members, including those from the opposition, voted for the creation of the group.
