ArmInfo. A group of citizens who painted the carriages of the Yerevan metro on the evening of February 1 have been detained. Acting head of the Yerevan Metro Babken Sedrakyan reported this to Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan during a working meeting of the city hall on February 3.
In particular, it was noted that on February 1, at 21:12, an emergency situation occurred in the Yerevan Metro. One of the passengers pressed the emergency stop button of the metro, which was running from the station "David Sasunsky" to the station "Zoravar Andranik". While the driver reported the incident to the dispatcher, a group of 5 people in masks painted the carriages with paint from the outside.
Sedrakyan reported that a criminal case had been opened on the fact of hooliganism, and the vandals, thanks to the efforts of the National Security Service, metro law enforcement officers and the Investigative Committee, have already been detained.
According to the report of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, the vandals are foreign citizens who were detained while trying to cross the Bagratashen border checkpoint.
