ArmInfo. Georgia sincerely wants to act as a facilitator in the South Caucasus in order to establish and strengthen peace. This was stated by the head of the Georgian Foreign Ministry Maka Bochorishvili at a joint press conference with her counterpart from Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan.
"Let me say that Georgia sincerely wants to act as a facilitator in the region in order to establish and strengthen peace. We express our readiness to simplify this process," the Georgian minister noted.
According to her, of course, regional processes were discussed at the meeting, and the importance of establishing stability and peace was noted. "Georgia sincerely wants to see peace in this region. And we are ready to do everything possible that depends on us to achieve this goal," the Georgian minister said.
At the same time, she expressed hope that the peace treaty will contain provisions that will reflect both the interests of Armenia and the interests of Azerbaijan. Bochorishvili is confident that only the observance of the interests of both sides can serve the establishment of long-term peace in the region.
"We are ready to work with our neighbors. We talked about the challenges to peace and security in this region," she said, also pointing to "the security challenges emanating from Russia in this region."
Bochorishvili also noted that Georgia and Armenia mutually respect each other's territorial integrity.
