ArmInfo. Armenia and the Armenian people need the help and support of the entire world. This was stated by member of the Armenian delegation to PACE, head of the opposition faction "I have the honor" of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Hayk Mamijanyan in his speech at the plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
According to him, all nations and countries of the world will have to pay a certain price for the establishment of a new world order. The Armenians paid this price by being subjected to genocide in the Ottoman Empire at the beginning of the 20th century, and then in the fight against Nazism at the cost of the lives of more than 300 thousand soldiers. "All this was the price we paid for the establishment of the old world order. We also paid a very high price for the new world order when we faced another Azerbaijani aggression and then ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020. This is an extremely high price for our nation. All of us here are representatives of the legislative body, and we understand very well that at the center of any law there must be a person, the very person who believes in the power of law. The people of Nagorno-Karabakh believed in the power of international law, but unfortunately, the current government of Armenia and the world deceived and betrayed them, leaving them alone in the fight against tyrants. The world must not allow history to repeat itself. The new world order must be based on values and laws, not on oil and geopolitical interests. You may say that I am a dreamer, but I believe that I am not the only one. There is no law in the world that could justify the imprisonment and humiliation of Armenians in Baku. There is no law in the world that could justify "The forced deportation of the Armenians of Nagorno- Karabakh from their homeland. There is no law in the world that would justify living in an atmosphere of daily danger, threats and hatred from Azerbaijan. We, Armenians, are the guardians of the Christian world. We should not have been alone," the parliamentarian noted.
